The Perfect Setting For Greenbuild

Boston is one of the greenest cities in America, and we invite you to see firsthand this exemplary city.

Boston is a big city leader in green building, and the first major U.S. city to implement its green building program by amending the zoning codes. Not only is Boston a green leader, but Massachusetts is a sustainability leader in the Northeast. A LEED Plus green building standard has been adopted in the state, which means that in addition to meeting the criteria in the LEED rating system, all buildings must perform 20 percent better than the Massachusetts Energy Code, reduce outdoor water consumption by 50 percent and indoor water consumption by 20 percent, while promoting smart growth principles. Massachusetts also has adopted a significant renewable energy goal, calling for 250 MW of solar capacity by 2017 and 2,000 MW of wind power capacity by 2020.
