USGBC at Greenbuild

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is helping change the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated. We believe in better buildings — places that complement our environment and enhance our communities, and places that give people better, brighter, healthier spaces to live, work and play.

USGBC was excited to offer a variety of special programs, learning opportunities, events and sessions for participants at the 2016 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the premier event for sustainable building.

At TalentFX, young professionals had the opportunity to join a gathering of rabble rousers, difference makers and agents of change — and heard from experts about how to build a career that matters.

Attendees participated in curated workshops and learned from peers and industry professionals about gaining support for a project, building their experience in the field, and pinpointing where they'll have the greatest impact on their community.

Greenbuild Master Speakers also may be available so you can talk one-on-one after their presentations.

Along with our booth and TalentFX at tteh 2016 conference, many leaders from USGBC were be on-hand to present at Greenbuild 2016. Check back soon for updates.

  • GREEN APPLE DAY OF SERVICE – This annual event gives community members, teachers, students, companies and local organizations the opportunity to transform their local schools into healthy, safe and productive learning environments. An initiative of the Center for Green Schools at USGBC, the 2016 event took place on Saturday, September 24.

  • PARKSMART - Formerly known as Green Garage Certification, Parksmart is the world’s only rating system that defines, measures and recognizes high-performing, sustainable garages. Developed by industry experts, Parksmart applies to new and existing facilities and assesses projects in several categories, including parking structure management, programming, design and technology.

  • PEER - The PEER system serves as a tool to accelerate transformation of the electricity sector. By engaging in the PEER process, power grids have an opportunity to gain a competitive advantage by differentiating their performance, documenting the value produced, and demonstrating meaningful outcomes.

  • SITES - The Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) is the most comprehensive program and toolkit for developing sustainable landscapes. The SITES program offers a comprehensive rating system designed to define sustainable sites, measure their performance, and, ultimately, evaluate the value of landscapes.
